So, umm, dA is getting pwned as it seems. (a 
for you if you catch the pun here) 
Anyway, the other day, °jark woke up, logged onto dA, and found out that he was no longer a part of the staff. Very nice way of saying, thanks for the vegetables, now piss off. 
Along with that, long loved °euphoria resigned today. How wonderful, there is no way that these two facts can be related. No, I'm serious. 
There is no way in hell that our belowed deviantART is being sold off. Whats that? Myspace.com was sold for millions? So, myspace.com was a big community site, its not like a large art site... wait ...

As conspiracty theories go, I have to put my two dimes in, because I ran out of pennies. I think that dA is being ready to be made more comerical in hopes to be sold off to the heighest bigger. It's not that crazy of an idea, just look at the facts:
°jark gets removed involuntary, despite being the one of the founders of the site. 
$ `jasonvelocity and °euphoria left the dA staff just in the past 24 hours. 
TheSummit was used to gather masses of media outlets to focus on the site, expose it to the non art crowd. 
Mobile service was introduced to be trendy. I don't remember anyone begging for the feature in the forums. 
The suggestion forums is ignored for the most part, only minor changes are actually being looked at.
The focus of the site is made more on $$ than the community. 
There is no official announcement regarding this, no coverup, just masses of people being pissed off.

Is this a good thing for the site? For those in power, it sure is. More $$ in their pockets. But what about those who are here for the community? Will we be bombarded by adds for DeVry Online classes or will business continue to function as it did? To this point, nothing is certain. I guess only time will tell. Whatever it is, it's not April 1st.

this is all just conjecture anyway because nothing has officially been said but if they do sell it off the ppl who buy it will almost certainly not want to lose the millions of deviants that are already here. if we go, then there is no DA so its in their interest to run it well. nobody spends millions of dollars on something just to fuck it up, y'know?

The turth is I got a phonecall in the middle of that night and after a very long discussion I took the position. Do you think me stepping into this role like this was somethign easy for me at all? It is absolutely not. I'm not replacing Scott. How could I? For me to even think for one second that I am "the new jark" or anyhitng like that would not only be absurd but insulting.
What I am going to try and do, is do my best at pulling things back together despite all the obstacles in front of me. I truly love this community and I am not walking away from it period.

By the way I'm not saying everything should be free... that notion went out with the maturity of the internet. I just hate the idea spending money everywhere I turn. After all, look at the movie theatre fiasco with buku advertisements before movies.
I dunno, something off the top of my head.
i for one won't miss it... it would probably give me incentive to make my own site (or pay somebody to do it...) but I can see how somebody who's been here for awhile would hate to see it go
